If your succulent has a short stem but a taller variety, it is not a good choice. This plant is great for rock gardens or Mediterranean gardens. This plant is originally from South Africa and can be found in all parts of the Mediterranean. This makes it a great choice of propagation for gardeners, new or experienced. Manfreda Mint Chocolate Chip’ (introduced in 2017, see above) has floppy, wavy and narrow leaves. Manfreda Cherry Chocolate Chip looks delicate but it’s not. I might try digging it up and seeing if it holds its own in a pot. You can see the black stems and mushy leaves in the center. This entire process can take anywhere between two months and a few years depending on its size and environment. After making all necessary corrections to the plant, it needs a new home. I planted it in a small pot that it quickly outgrew. After that, I moved it to the ground.

One manfreda went into an oven, the second into the ground. Manfreda “Cherry Chocolate Chip” is a variegated variety of Manfreda undulata “Chocolate Chip”.
