This soft-leaved, agave is the one that I have in my garden. It is where the cold is most dangerous. What about an Azave or another succulent with frost only on the leaf tips? Do not trim them. The cuttings should be dried for at least 24 hours to allow the wounds to heal and create a callus. Don’t cut away any of the dried leaves attached to a succulents’ stem or trunk.
