DTU carries out admissions to full-time Bachelor of Engineering through JEE MAIN since 2013.

85% of the seats are reserved for students who pass from schools in Delhi or Delhi region. The rest of the 15% seats are for students from outside Delhi and are selected on the basis of All India merit Rank obtained in JEE MAINS. Before 2010 admission to the 85% reserved seats for students from Delhi were based on a Common Entrance Exam (CEE) which has now been discarded.

Admission to the postgraduate programs is based on scores procured in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). In case two or more candidates have the same GATE score, then percentage obtained in the qualifying undergraduate course governs selection. No separate test or interview is conducted by DTU.

Lastly, admissions to MBA program are based on Common Admission Test (CAT) exam, that is followed by a group discussion and an interview.
