Sam Frost mocks Home and Away for dramatic storylines, car crashes

has taken a playful swipe at , just weeks after her exit from the long-running soap.

The actress, 32, raised eyebrows on Friday when she reposted an article by satirical news website that mocked Home and Away’s dramatic storylines and frequent fatal car crashes.

The article featured the headline: ‘Home and Away writer fired for not reaching one-car-crash-scene-per-season quota.’

The story read in part: ‘Clearly stipulated in bold, capital letters, writers were warned prior to joining the program that each season was to include at least “one car crash”, a drug overdose and if possible, an explosion.’

Re-posting the article on Instagram, Sam wrote: ‘The caption really made me giggle.’

She also commented on the original post with her favourite phrase from the article, ‘And if possible, an explosion,’ adding crying-with-laughter emojis. 

Sam, who played nurse Jasmine Delaney for four years, has been involved in her fair share of climactic on-screen moments.

She has survived a car crash, a food truck explosion and even a gas attack.  

The former Bachelorette filmed her final scenes for Home and Away last month at Sydney’s Eveleigh Studios. 

The actress will reportedly move to Melbourne to be closer to her friends and family. 

Sam, who started her media career as a contestant on The Bachelor, scored her first acting gig in 2017 when she joined the cast of Home and Away. 

At the time, some industry figures called the decision to hire the reality star ‘disappointing’ and a ‘publicity stunt’.

One actor said the decision to hire an ‘unqualified’ TV personality was ‘an insult to trained actors’, adding that she’d ‘stolen [the role] from those who attended NIDA’.
