Yosca le Conte (Dutch. Joska le Conte, 29 September 1987, Zeist, Utrecht) is a Dutch skeleton athlete who has played for the Netherlands national team since 2006. Three-time champion of the national championship.

Biography

Joska le Conte was born on September 29, 1987 in Zeist, Utrecht province. She began to actively engage in skeleton at the age of eighteen, in 2006, having won the Dutch domestic championship, she was selected for the national team and began to take part in major international competitions, showing pretty good results. The first international performance took place for her in December, at the stage of the European Cup in Königssee, Germany, she came to the finish line 23rd. At the beginning of the next year, she took fifteenth place at the European Championships, but the rest of the season she participated only in local minor races.

She spent the 2007/08 season in the fight first for the European Cup, and then for the Intercontinental Cup, for the second time she was the title of Dutch champion, and at the European championship in Italian Cesana she was eighth. At the youth world championship in the Austrian Igls she showed the seventh result, thanks to which for the first time in her career she made her way to the adult world championship – races on the track, however, ended for her only in the twenty-fifth position in the standings. She finished the season with performances at the America’s Cup, where she was confidently in the top twenty. Thanks to a series of successful races, a year later, Le Conte won the right to in the stages of the adult World Cup for the first time, while she showed the best result on the track in Whistler, Canada, where she took sixteenth place, and in the overall standings she was on the nineteenth line. At the 2009 World Championships, she repeated the result of the previous time, again she was twenty-fifth.

She spent the next season at about the same level, tried to make it to the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, but took only 20th place in the world ranking of the strongest skeleton athletes and could not qualify. Of the major tournaments, in addition to the World Cup, she took part only in the races of the European Championship, where she finished eleventh, and the World Youth Championship, showing the fifth result. The 2010/11 World Cup season is still the most successful in Le Conte’s career, at the stage in St. Moritz, Switzerland, she came thirteenth, and in the overall standings was placed in sixteenth position. At the European Championships in Winterberg, Germany, she closed the top ten, while at the World Championships in Königssee she was seventeenth, and this is still her best result in the adult world championships. In the next season, she lost ground a little, despite the good eleventh and twelfth places in certain stages of the World Cup, in the final ranking she was only on the eighteenth line. She went to compete at the 2012 World Championships in Lake Placid, America, where she showed the 22nd time in the women’s individual program.
