Graduate programs available through the Department of Kinesiology are a Master of Science with specializations in; General Physical Education; Exercise. Transfer students must seek academic advising from the BA Kinesiology Advisor in the Department of Kinesiology immediately. Transfer students must seek academic advising from the Exercise Science Advisor in the Department of Kinesiology immediately. To ensure that all students develop a solid academic foundation, all first time, first-year freshman students (regardless of intended major) must obtain academic advising and clearance for registration from an advisor in the Division of Student Success during their first year. Transfer students must seek academic advising from the PETE Advisor in the Department of Kinesiology immediately. 2 Master of Athletic Training (M.A.T) program must complete all requirements for the Kinesiology Major as part of the dual-degree program. Students must complete at least nine hours toward the minor at UT Arlington. In addition to our majors, KRSS also serves approximately 5,500 UT students per year in promoting wellness and active living through course offerings ranging from swimming, jogging, conditioning, and strength training, to tennis, yoga, martial arts, golf, ice skating, softball, and soccer.
Strength and conditioning coach: Prepares athletes for high performance, affording them the greatest advantage in competition. The Motor & Rehabilitation Sciences (MRS) Track Incorporates prerequisites and prepares students for graduate school applications in occupational therapy and speech & language pathology, as well as careers and research in pediatrics and special populations, biomechanics, motor behavior and rehabilitation sciences. The Exercise Science – Motor & Rehabilitation Sciences track is designed for students interested in careers and research in pediatrics, special populations, biomechanics, motor behavior, and rehabilitation sciences, as well as prepares students for graduate school applications in occupational therapy and speech & language pathology. It also prepares students for certifications programs such as ACSM, HFS, NSCA, CSCS. The Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, Physical Education with All-Level Teacher Certification prepares individuals for teaching and coaching positions in public and private schools. The Bachelor of Arts in Nasara Quick Strips Kinesiology Tape Y Strips for Pain Relief and Support is designed to prepare individuals for teaching and coaching positions in public and private schools and for sport and physical activity program leadership in both the public and private settings.
The knowledge you gain in our master’s program will help you be effective in improving the lives of children and youth through physical activity. The doctoral training of our faculty and the laboratory facilities in the Kinesiology Lab provide the necessary scientific basis for the advanced study of physical activity and performance. The faculty of the Department of Kinesiology is committed to excellence. The BSPH degree program aligns well with current science-based degree programs offered in the Department of Kinesiology. Areas of specialization offered are minors in: Athletic Coaching; Physical Education for Individuals with Disabilities and Exercise Science for teachers and non-majors. If you were hurt before and such event became traumatic for you, do not let it to continuously hurt you by living in the past. If the student is able to make up the GPA deficiency in the semester immediately following loss of major status, he or she can be reinstated as a major by making application to the Departmental Advisor when grades are released. After the first year, students should seek advisement from the Exercise Science Advisor in the Department of Kinesiology prior to each semester and summer sessions. The Department of Kinesiology offers a minor in public health. No further offers will be made. If the student is unable to make up the deficiency in the semester immediately following the probation, the student will lose status as a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology with All-Level Certification major and be moved to the Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology – Sports Leadership and Management major. If a student falls below a 2.75 GPA at any time prior to petitioning for admission into the College of Education, the student will be on departmental probation for one semester. If you don’t want to click over, I’m talking about high school students tailoring their program to a certain major in order to “look good” on their college application.
