AFL superstar Dustin Martin has gone on a property spending spree splashing $14million in trendy Melbourne suburbs.
Martin, who signed a contract extension with Richmond in 2017 worth $1.1million per season, has been investing some of that salary into property, recently buying $6million worth on one street.
The 29-year-old’s manager says Dusty is using his national profile and lucrative sponsorships with Bonds and Nike to set up a post-footy career, likening him to some of global sport’s biggest names.
‘(He is) not only one of the best players that has ever played the game, he is probably the most bankable sports brand in Australia,’ Martin’s manager Ralph Carr told the <a style="font-weight: bold;" class="class" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" website Sun.
‘I always thought with the right support and guidance he would become Australia’s Michael Jordan or David Beckham.’

The three-time premiership winner has been investing in property around his footy team’s area of Richmond, buying three redeveloped warehouses on Butler Street for a combined $6million.
The suburb, close to the Melbourne Cricket Ground where he’s won three Norm Smith medals as best on ground in the grand final, was formerly an industrial hub but now has some unique properties on offer.
Martin and Carr, who are close friends as well as business partners, have started a company together and purchased the properties under that title.
